- Want to take part in common social situations without feeling unsure about tone or politeness
- Prefer practical spoken communication rather than academic or classroom focused study

By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Greet people and use appropriate polite expressions
- Participate in basic social conversations
- Ask and answer simple questions in everyday situations
- Interact comfortably in common social settings
- Understand and respond to everyday spoken Korean
The emphasis is on being understood and responding appropriately.
Typical Situations Covered
The course focuses on language used in situations such as:
- Greeting people and making polite conversation
- Meeting new people and social introductions
- Dining out and social activities
- Talking about everyday topics such as weather and plans
- Using simple phone and in-person interaction
Course Structure & Delivery
- The course is 2 x 90 min sessions per week, for a total of 22.5 contact hours
- Live, instructor-led online classes
- Structured progression using CEFR-aligned materials
- Strong emphasis on listening and spoken interaction
This course prioritises social comfort and communicative confidence.
Entry Level
This course is designed for beginner learners with limited to no prior exposure to Korean.
A short assessment may be recommended to ensure appropriate placement.
Assessment & Certification
Learners who complete the course may take a short post-course assessment.
Based on performance, a CEFR-aligned certificate can be issued to reflect the learner’s demonstrated level at the end of the course.
Outcomes & Next Steps
By the end of the course, learners typically:
- Feel more confident interacting socially in Korean
- Can manage everyday conversations more comfortably
- Are less reliant on English in informal social situations
Learners who wish to continue can progress into private or other specialised Korean courses based on their goals.
